Does your baby cry for three or more hours per day, at least three days per week? Then they may be experiencing infant colic.
Colic is the term used when your otherwise healthy baby cries excessively and can’t be soothed and is believed to affect one in five babies.
Signs and symptoms of colic include:
- intense crying bouts
- crying in the late afternoon or evening that lasts several hours
- your baby’s face being red and flushed when they cry
- your baby clenching their fists, drawing their knees up to their tummy, or arching their back while crying
While no one knows the exact cause of colic it is not a sign that you are doing anything wrong! It is however extremely distressing for parents to see their little ones so upset and this is why rather than accept it is something their baby has to go through, they bring them to the clinic to receive some Bowen therapy which in my experience is usually high effective at resolving the symptoms or colic.

Another happy Mum has just left with her 8 week old baby. Saw the baby for the first time last week and she was suffering with terrible colic symptoms. After just one session of Bowen, the baby has been symptom free, eating well and sleeping peacefully.
